Pet Shield Veterinary Hospital Announces New Changes

Pet Shield Veterinary Hospital is proud to announce new and exciting changes for the hospital and its’ staff this year including the addition of a new doctor and a new Chief of Staff. Dr. Susan Hall, DVM has joined the veterinary team, bringing with her over 20 years’ experience in small animal surgery and medicine. Dr. Kelly Shanley, DVM, takes over as Chief of Staff and is excited to bring some new changes to the hospital.

12246872_992825250760865_6811979766072154296_nHall studied animal science at the University of Connecticut and earned her bachelor’s degree in science in 1989. She then went on to pursue obtaining her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1993, graduating Summa Cum Laude from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, playing violin, dancing, swimming, hiking, and is an active member of St. George Church and Christ Church in Guilford, Conn. Her professional interests include small animal internal medicine and soft tissue surgery, dermatology, dentistry, critical care, and pain management.

Shanley studied biology and chemistry and Southern Connecticut State University and Central Connecticut State University while working as a veterinary technician locally. She pursued her dream of practicing veterinary medicine by attending Auburn University, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2006. She has been working at Pet Shield as a Veterinarian for 4 years now. While enjoying the time she spends with family, Shanley is also an active member in the community and interested in the pursuit of client education.

Pet Shield Veterinary Hospital is a small animal practice originally opened in the 1980s and now located in North Branford, Conn. after moving a couple times. Shanley describes Pet Shield as unique because they offer “personalized, compassionate care with emphasis on individualized treatment for all the patients in our veterinary family.” She is excited as Chief of Staff to accomplish new things in order for the practice to grow and Hall is excited to be part of this process.
